Sorry only just seen your query. I ended up taking car to a Kia main garage who "tested" it and said it needed a new airbag control unit, there were none in the country!! It was going to cost £370 to get one. They took one off another Kia and tested it and the light went out. I looked on e bay and found a firm who sold used units for £21.99 with guarantee for 90 days. It took the garage a couple of minutes to fit it and it works fine (touch wood)They charged me about £37 for the initial diagnosis. Hope this helps.

...a used airbag control unit (with a 90-day guarantee) sounds such a good idea.....so, if you have a major accident in the next three months, and go through the windscreen, you'll be able to get your £22 back?
By 'used' i assume not in an accident.. more second hand from a car.

So it's barely used..
