another one could not add up all the numbers from 1 to 9!
What is WWTBAM?
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
It's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

I'd love to see how well TTT would get on. He'd be arguing about the answers...
^Who wants to be a millionaire
>how many inches in a metre?
How many decimal places did they require the answer to?
Question Author
to the nearest whole inch.
I didn't see the programme so I don't know what the possible answers were but am I right in thinking there's a time limit for giving an answer?
...and you can't Google ;-)
Just seen it and he was swithering between thirty-nine inches and forty-three inches.

It may be he's not in the habit of using feet and inches and 39.4 inches didn't mean anything to him so he was trying to work it out in his head and got it wrong.

Question Author
TCL there is no time limit.
I do quite well in my living room but I know I'd be *** if I were on tv. I can't even walk properly if I know I'm being video'd. :D
It is worse than that. With regard to the question about how many inches in a metre, he said there were 2.5cm in an inch, so worked out that meant 40 inches to a metre. He then stated that he thought the exact value was 2.54cm (quite correct) and then went on to state that the answer was therefore greater than 40. So, he thinks that dividing by a larger number gives a larger answer!
Just googled it and I seen they introduced a fifteen second time-limit for the early questions (doesn't say which ones) in 2010.

It must have been a couple of those I seen but the format has changed since.
What gets me is when they think they know the answer, ask for 50:50 but when their answer is one of the two options left, they don't go for it.

What was the point of choosing the option then?
Question Author
yes there was a time limit for a while but not in this series.
Question Author
i find that most of the time 50:50 leaves the 2 choices I was thinking of anyway, useless life line unless you have no idea completely.
Asking the host is usually a useless lifeline, too. He got quite shirty with the contestant, accusing her of not researching him. Made me laugh
Question Author
yes because she wasted a life line before asking him, she asked a really thick friend who actually concatenated 2 of the choices together as the answer! Then she asked Jezza who knew.
I thought it was funny last week (?) when Jezza was asked the question about Concorde's last flight. He said he flew on it but couldn't remember if it was 1998 or 2003. Early onset dementia maybe?
