Was watching Prince Charles inside the Duchy of Cornwall on Thursday night and from what I can make out, he uses the revenue from that to support himself and Camilla plus the Cambridges and their children and the Sussex's and their child. Do they get money from somewhere else as well? When Charles hands it over to William, will William have to pay for the upkeep of Camilla (if Charles goes first) and also Harry, Meghan and Archie, or will he just have to use it for himself, Kate and their children?
That's what I was thinking Bobbi, that's why I was wondering if they get money from somewhere else too, because he would have to be getting a lot from the Duchy to pay for the upkeep of his family.
If you belive that someone's entitled to massive swathes of land, sea and air plus everything found on or in them simply because of an accident of birth then it's all fine.
Well, I assume he pays for their upkeep, their staff, food, clothes, holidays, etc. There's probably figures on the internet somewhere about how much he earns from it and how much he gives to his sons, but I was thinking that when Charles dies, William will inherit the title Duke of Cornwall and he has said he will carry on with the work, but will that money just be used for himself his wife and children?
I’d imagine it’ll carry on Barsel via William, there’ll be some clause saying he must
Douglas , I dong hold it against them this accident of birth you mention, I would not like to walk in their shoes at all
If you look at other very wealthy families they all seem to live extravagant lifestyles even if they don't work. I doubt they pay for many clothes, they'd be given to them.
I believe Charles earns more than enough money from the Duchy of Cornwall to provide for himself. Think we i.e. the government pay for his protection officers etc.
Bobbi // William, there’ll be some clause saying he must//
I don't think there is a clause as Charles said in the programme it brought a tear to his eye when William told him he would carry on with the work.
