The board at Stoke have finally woken up to the simple fact that once again, they have appointed a manager who is out of his depth and above his abilities, and sacked Nathan Jones.

The present Mrs Hughes, a fan for over fifty years and season ticket holder, is delighted, but of course, as it is Stoke, they haven't managed to appoint a successor first.

Who knows who will want the poisoned chalice that is free-falling Stoke City - certainly none of the heavyweights they could have had if they had appointed properly three managers ago.

I know next to nothing about football, but would be interested if anyone who has knowledge would like to speculate who may come in and save the club - if indeed that is possible.

I nominate Nailit, a true Stokie :)
Steve Bruce would probably be able to stabalise them in the Championship league, he's no premiership manager though.

Look on the bright side, Stoke play WBA on Monday night and they usually do well against them.

Tony pulis is your man
Togo might be interested. I think he could do it between picking his nags and tending his garden:-)

LOL.
Have a little flutter tone. Easy money
Wellllll, piggynose, we know what usually happens when a club that is inbetween managers play. They usually come out 'all guns blazing'.
Alex Neill is currently the 4/7 fav! He might take some prising away from PNE, though. Pulis is 9/1. Would he want a 3rd bite of the cherry?
Alex Neill, yeah I heard earlier that he was the favorite, Ken ( turned the Albion down not so long back ).
That's the one,Tony. Doing a great job at Preston - 17 points and 22 places above Stoke. How on earth is he the 4/7 fav?
I can't see him leaving Preston, Ken.
Big Sam! He's done it a few times. And he's free!
I am told that Tony Pullis and unbelievably Arsene Wenger were sighted at the ground mid week. So there is a long shot punt for you........ get on Wenger with 10 bob.
Where's your money gone, then, Togo :-)
I highly recommend Alan Pardew
Myself? I think it will be Chris Hughton.
(I was joking)

I think the problem now is that any manager who could actually do any good will automatically run in the opposite direction!

I think the club are going down, it's down the 'board' - ha ha ha, there are only three of them, and the current man in charge is Peter Coates' son who clearly knows less about football than I do!!!
Happy now birthday boy?
