Why was Danny Dyer ever plcked as the host of this rubbish quiz. Uneducated and has problems pronouncing the words properly and at times standing there with his hands in hjs pockets. Why are such vast amounts of money could be won on this bbc quiz yet they only offer £1000 per prog on Eggheads and Pointless.
On ITV in 1955 Double your Money had the top prize of £1000. We have not moved on very much

TV commissioning editors regularly make the same error, assuming that because a personality is popular in one environment, they will be popular in others.

The classic error is assuming that the popularity rests with the personality, which it doesn't rather than the actual appeal, which is the format.

Take Len Goodman - popular judge on Strictly, dead loss on a quiz show and a radio show about old time music, because he is actually boring away from the razz of Strictly.

Danny Dyer - popular actor in a soap, utter dead loss as a compere, beyond his skill levels.

They do it all the time, and never seem to learn.
