I've a few problems with your opening sentence however, it's devastating for those left behind.

I'm more curious tho about the shooter, if one is hunting, then you scope for prey, also eventually, prey is in the cross-hairs.

If I were to put my oddball hat on, I'd think this was murder and not a double tragic accident.

And Canary trying to tie hunting to Trump is about par for the course when you know nothing. The President of the USA much prefers golf to gun sports. However if you want to start a thread on your knowledge of air strikes and terrorist activity I suggest that is the way to go.

Its very sad but nothing new. More than 20 years ago I lived in New Jersey for a while. Hunters didn't go out in camo but in hi viz orange to help to keep them safe from other hunters. Out next door neighbour used to fire off his rifle to amuse the grandkids.

I read one report saying they were a group of four, i.e. two down, two standing...... The other point made was that the local authority was quoted as saying the gun used was a shotgun loaded with large gauge shot. The range across which shotguns are lethal to humans is far shorter than that of single bullet guns such as rifles. This is a very USA incident.

so it is not the death that is criticized but who they are

anyway are there not 18 000 ( think lots) shot gun deaths in the land of the Free? - of which a third are said to be accidental, and during things like hunting - so the surprise is that it got into the papers

prosecution - depends on the facts and whether they can show gross niglifence.

is this the time to mention that a scots laird let his grounds to a notoriously bad shot, so he wore a notice 'I am not a deer' whilslt he was on site
