Anyone else find the Imperial contestant Brandon smug and annoying, brilliant though he is? And why is he allowed to have 'Brandon' written in front of him on the desk when his name is Brandon Blackwell?

I wish the producer would tell all the students to introduce themselves with their full name - 'Hi, I'm John' etc just sounds naff and juvenile.

Haaaa! If you use one surname or six, you have a surname. You're not 'between' surnames.

I love both U/C and Only Connect because they haven’t been ‘dumbed down’ and made to appeal to everyone.
I don’t watch The Chase because if that and Pointless because of the constant repetition of the questions. So tedious.

PP - the question on Pointless yesterday was "Name a country between North and South alphabetically." The answer given was Trinidad and Tobago - and she was a third-year medical student! She looked bemused when told it was wrong, and Richard Osman asked if medicine was the right career...

hellywelly4, I like Only Connect too - and the absence of an audience. Jon Snow's 'Very Hard Questions' isn't bad either - but the host leaves much to be desired. A distinct absence of personality there.

"Between surnames" because, as I said, of some personal family matters that are no concern of anybody else's. That should really be enough of an answer; it's private *why* he didn't provide a surname, and it's not my place to share it.
