For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I am not an expert in this area, but I think the scart cable you are using between your DVD and TV is for transferring vision and sound from your DVD to the TV, but not the other way round.
You need to check your TV bookletl to see if there is a sound OUT connector. Then you need to connect the sound OUT from your TV to a sound IN connection on your DVD (if there is one).
I recently bought an AV receiver, and this allows me to connect my Sky box sound output to the AV receiver input.
I can then hear the sound from Sky through my 6 speakers.
this is a problem if you are going to record something, and want to watch a program in surround, but thats the way it is..
