Mexico city to Ushuaia, 25000 km? they're taking the peace it's on 40000 round the whole kin world, who works this out? It's 9k on a good day!
In series 1, apparently Singapore was furthest away on land from us! Bowlocks, what about Vladivostok?

Actually TTT, you could probably get to Vladivostok quite easily and cheaply by train. Maybe that’s why they’ve not chosen that destination. Too easy.

It sounds more impresive! On Ice Road Truckers they are always carrying a "massive 20,000lb load". 9 tons doesn't sound as good...I carry more than twice that on my 8 wheel tipper!
The thing I'd like to know about RATW, is that they have at least one cameraman with them and last week, we found they have a medic too...how do they get the last seats on the bus/train/boat too? Do they go off to a nice hotel, whilst the team catches some shut eye in a hostel? How long is the 'rest' at the checkpoint? Anyone know?

Well, to be accurate no foreign city could be reached by land so it was all with a pinch of salt anyway.

Distance between Vladivostok and London is 8523 kilometers (5296 miles). Driving distance from Vladivostok to London is 11951 kilometers (7426 miles).

The shortest route between London and Singapore is 9,115.56 mi (14,670.07 km )

Plus MX city to Ush is nowhere near 25k.

They pick routes that present a challenge - that's all. As I said, the UK to Vladivostok is probably easily achieved by train - and at little cost - so that wouldn't do at all.

I'd love to give it a go.

Out of interest I just checked out an overland journey (bus and train) from London to Vladivostok. It takes nine days and costs between £199-£499. A doddle!!

fair enough ZM, TBF I was just trying to find a town in East Russia but looking at the map the bit closest to Alaska does have some towns and no doubt they can be reached by road once across the channel eg Naukan. That looks a lot further than Singapore. I gues they wanted a glittery location and some flowery language. Yes Naomi they claimed in the titles that Singapore is the farthest you can reach on land (ignoring the channel of course)
