1960's ITV space series

Can anyone remember an animated TV series set in space (NOT The Clangers) which went out just before the ITV early evening news in the late 60's / early 70's? What was it all about?

My memories of this series are a little vague - I was only 6 at the time. I think it was a cartoon, possibly from abroad as I seem to remember nobody quite knew what it was about. I remember the scheduling though.

1960's ITV space series - correct. Late 60's/early 70's - incorrect. You only use the apostrophe when the word is used in the possessive sense, as in 1960's series. For late 60s, no apostrophe is required.

Thanks for your suggestions. Target Lunar was from the very early 60s and Button Moon from the 80s. So no luck there. Perhaps I need to find someone with a huge collection of TV Times!
