Didn’t watch except for the Queen
Fabulous all through and very moving in parts - then after the Queen's message the sky here erupted for a few minutes.
Absolutely brilliant considering it was a BBC production. The combined musicians from the Guards Regiment were worthy of the LSO in my opinion. The setting was great along with the location and singers. If people like Diddlydoo cannot be inspired or stirred at this attempt to boost the morale like no other nation can do then best we put him out of his misery. Well done the beeb for a change.
Diddly's a female, retro, but I agree :)
Caught the Queen's address, wonderful speech I thought.
will have to see if it's on i Player. I was busy on the phone whilst it was on
I only watched the Queen bit - no desire to see the rest.
why not, does it offend you... to see people finally get the break they deserved. Six years of war, who can blame people for going a bit mad.
I am pleased for those who enjoyed it and were inspired/stirred by it but I don't enjoy "that kind of thing" I thought the Queen was her usual wonderful self.
What I found quite extraordinary were the voices of Adrian Lester, Emma Barton and Helen George - quite superb. Just saying !!

Didn't watch all of it but found Emma Barton to be really good. She seems to put everything into all the things she does. Hadn't heard of her before she did strictly as we don't watch Eastenders or any soaps but seen her a number of times since.
Loved it and didn't know Helen George could sing like that. The BBC did well.
I thought it was excellent and very well presented. I wouldn't say I am fiercely patriotic, but when I hear the sort of music and singing that I heard last evening, something makes me proud to live in the UK.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, very moving in places. I think it may have been better than what was originally planned, with a march past.
I thought it was superb. The music was inspiring and the Queen was -well- the Queen :-)
The Queen is always good. But from what I've read here, I'm glad I flicked back to Gardener's World which was hugely inspirational and in no way jingoistic.

diddly, I'm pleased you flicked back to Gardener's World too. A welcome relief for us from your incessant moaning.
i thought it very well done, except for Katherine Jenkins, sorry i can't stand her warbling.
