More Black People On British Television

Am I alone in noticing that since the awful George Floyd death in the USA and the consequent rise of the BLM movement, there’s been a big increase in black people on British television? Shouldn’t presenters, experts etc be chosen for their ability / talent rather than anything else?

3% of our population are black. Yet they are in over 75% of all adverts. Many many tv progs. Yet they are a minority.

its all about diversity, like i said..if you live in a city, its relivant
but us in the burbs, not so, eventually it will be like chicago or l.a
gangs..oh we have them already, well x10 then, specially with the dinghy blokes in there thousands...paranoid, nature of the beast, to many to fast, to integrate, thats saying if they really want to, jihad benefits...but who knows, massive change is with us, specially a certain culture....and all that they find devine, and you cannot say a word about it...

After this thread I happened to notice that three out of four 'buy a home' programmes tonight on HGTV had one or both buyers who were 'of colour' - coincidence? Or programme selectors making a concerted effort to include more?

Most hospitals I visit (for my son) are staffed with 80% black & BAME. I think reading a tv autocue is easier than caring for the sick.

Tilly, someone recently posted on here that only 3% of the U.K. population is black. Yet these days, particularly since the rise of BLM, there is a very high percentage of ethnic minorities on tv....and now it seems on Radio. Way out of proportion
