Vj 75Th Anniversary
Anybody been watching this today?
I watched most of it, in between watching every Premiership Rugby game - god I've missed rugby.
Did anybody see the Kohima Epitaph: "When you go home, tell them of us and say, For your tomorrow, we gave our today."
Jesus Christ, that sent a massive shiver down my spine.

As someone who remembered VJ day very well it has always been surprising and sad to me that it seems a bit of a forgotten "add on " to VE day. And yes DD that quotation is so moving and sums it all up really. There were such horrors - particularly in the POW camps.
Here's an interesting article from the BBC regarding VJ Day: https:/ /www.bb c.com/n ews/av/ world-a frica-5 3769459 /vj-day -the-fo rgotten -africa n-soldi ers-of- the-bur ma-camp aign
For some reason VE and VJ Days pass by largely unnoticed in Canada and the US.
