I love this film and it is on tomorrow night at 10.30 pm om BBC1. It's funny, it's sad, it's romantic and it's heartbreaking. Tale of a young couple in the 1940's played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams but told by James Garner to his wife Gena Rowlands who has dementia and they are both in the same nursing home. Tissues ready for the end of the film. I get teary each time I watch it.

I saw it for the first time last year and it brought a tear to my eye.
I've watched this about 30 times, one of my all time favourites
Thanks for that BD, I noticed it was on and I've not seen it and was wondering if it was worth watching. I'm going to record it now after what you have written.
I have never understood why people want to watch things that will make them cry.

I record all my favourites on the box upstairs and watch them when there's not a lot worth watching which is quite often. I do my ironing in the bedroom so its nice to have something to watch. North and South with Richard Armitage is also one of my favs and all 4 episodes are on the Drama channel tomorrow at 3.10pm but I've already got that on DVD.
I like recording films (got Jane Eyre still to watch from last week) and then I know I've got something to look forward to when we get yet more repeats on TV!

Margie - not just me as Tigger and Prudie have already said. Well worth watching.
But it's your OP, so I was thanking you.

Thank you for that. Hope you enjoy it. Was it the Jane Eyre with Michael Fassbender you recorded? If so I watched it as he is one of my favourite actors. Really good adaptation I thought.
Yes it is the Michael Fassbender one, I haven't seen that version, so really looking forward to it. Will be watching it sometime this weekend.

If ever you get a chance watch The Light Between Oceans with Michael Fassbender. He fell in love with and married his co-star Alicia Vikander. Rachel Weisz (Mrs Daniel Craig) is also in it. Him and Alicia play a childless couple who find a newborn baby which has been lost at sea. Its a slow starter but I loved it.
I've seen it and also read the book. Loved the book and loved the film. Both absolutely brilliant.
One of the all time great films. I can recommend A Dog’s Purpose too

Thanks for that Theblip. Never heard of it but just had a look at it and it looks promising. Will certainly put it on my watch list.
I've heard of it, but never watched it. I think it is on Netflix too. Like, woof, I'm never sure about watching something I think will upset me, but I might have a go.
Yes, The Light Between Oceans is excellent. Read the novel first and preferred it to the film
I don't think it's on BBC1 tonight is it BD ?
Thank you. Will give it a try.
Re the Notebook it has weepy bits but also heart bursting joyous bits. It's certainly not a sad film overall.
Rosie - it is on tonight.
