Just back from hols. in Northumberland - glorious; very relaxing; no wi-fi and feeble phone signal (very good for the soul and personal relationships). Watched (or heard, rather as I was in and out) a smashing programme on Bernard Heitink. Just cleared junk from inbox and popped on here - going to bed shortly - quite tired and lots to do tomorrow.

Not just the coastline. Terrific walks down the Breamish valley - we made it to the hill fort (quite an achievement at our ages) and are fired with enthusiasm for doing more walking despite knees etc., etc..
Really am off to sleep because we couldn't face the Tyne Tunnel again and all the roadworks (got lost going up) so we went the scenic way -A68 plus diversions to walk dog. Then the A64 was closed past Malton...............grrrrrrrr. All is now well. :)
