Enola Holmes On Netfix

I've tried to watch this but the screen contrast is really dark. I've experienced this problem with a number of things on Netflix. Ozark is the same. Just really dark and I can't see the picture properly.

Does anyone else experience this?

So many crime dramas seem to be shot in the dark as well.

It has just become more cinematic due to the digital age and our advanced TVs. It's not going to change any time soon and has really been going this way since the Soprano's.

The result is that you probably need to watch it in cinema conditions - i.e in a dark or very dimly lit room, to get the best out of it.

I've just watched the first five minutes (I enjoyed the trailer, so it's on my to watch list), and it seemed that the scenes in the mansion were very gloomily lit, but the outdoors scenes were as normal.

I've just watched the trailer now and that seems fine. Gone back to watching the actual programme and it's very dark, I can hardly see what's going on.

It looks ok to me. Not sure if your TV needs 'calibrating' to get the best out of it. If your tv has different modes, maybe try those - mine has things like 'cinema', 'sport' etc. Some of the mansion scenes were a bit darker, but I could still see everything that was going on with no problems.

Well, I thought I would put it on to see if it was a dark picture...but I can't find it.

Everything else I watch on Netflix is fine with the exception of a few others like Ozark as I mentioned. Even the scenes set outdoors in the sun are quite dark.

Don't think it's anything to do with my tv settings. Ummmm has also experienced this so it's not just me.

I'm watching BBC at the moment and that's fine. It does seem to be a problem with Netflix and Amazon.

A lot of dramas these days are shot that way on purpose. Ozark for instance is filmed with blue filter, it supposed to reflect the mood of the show.
Not sure how it adds to it when you can't see it!

I thought it odd when it was said it was filmed in gloomy conditions.

Millie Bobby Brown is a talented young actress, but I think portraying Eamonn Holmes might be a little beyond even her talents :-)

She's a lot better looking than Eamonn.

The trailer was fine and bright though so I don't think it's a blue filter thing. When watching the actual programme it's dark.

I think some of it may be to show the time period it's set in. The mansion has yellow lampshades, giving it a slightly weird glow when they're lit. As I said, the scenes set outside (when she's riding her bike and meeting her brothers at the station) seem normal to me. Maybe it will improve as the movie continues.

May contact customer services and ask if they can look into and tell them that the contrast brightness compared to the trailer is quite different.
