The Joy Of Painting

Does anybody watch The Joy of Painting, BBC Four, Monday to Thursday, 7.30 p.m.? It's a relaxing half-hour watching this artist create a landscape. He doesn't try to be a comedian, he just concentrates on his picture and explains what he is doing.

There was mention earlier of Bob Ross being a drill instructor. When he left that behind he said he would never raise his voice again to anyone, which is why he presents his shows with a whispering voice. Also, a lot of the scenes he paints were from his memory of time spent in Alaska, so not entirely from his imagination.
Kincade's work is indeed kitsch, but at least he can paint. He get his perspectives correct, his shadows in the right place - its just the subjects that are a little corny but hey ho I wouldn't mind living in this little cottage
