Mrs sqad who is an ardent Strictly Come Dancing (SCD) fan was appalled attention antics and switched it off after 10 minutes.
She complained about the false atmosphere of the incessant clapping without an audience and the behaviour OTT of the "luvies."

Saw the last half hour last night where partnerships were announced. All were so excited and delighted and couldn't wish for better partners blah. I wish one of them would confess their actual disappointment.
Anton du Beke [Tony Beke for 'tis he] did seem to be announcing his 'delight' through gritted teeth though. As is his wont.

Last year we both felt it had finally done its time and weren’t going to bother with it this year.
However, due to COVID and all the repeats on tv we decided to give it a go. Despite all the over the top raving about everyone getting their perfect partner, we both really enjoyed it, particularly Bill Bailey’s contribution. It will also be interesting to see how the same sex partnership is executed/developes.
All in all, ‘‘twas better than expected.
