An old movie, probably before 1980. Only remember the end scene, panic because of imminent death

Westernlike setting. Something about families fight against the sand. It ends with mom (or dad) with 2 young children hiding inside a wooden house (Little house on the Prairie style). Closing all doors n windows but the sand keeps coming in through the cracks due to the storm. You know they won't make it out alive but movie stops before they get to that point.
