Was anybody else as surprised as I was when Faye gave in so readily to Ray last night? I did not expect that!

In the hotel room, I think in the first episode before the break. He opened the door to her in his dressing gown, went through the rigmarole of her tasting the wine (he didn't as he was going to be driving), flattered her, talked about promotion and the house and invited her to share the bath with him. Next thing we see she is in bed looking sick.
I don't particularly like Ray, his nasal speech adds to his creepiness , hi SK
I loathe the character but I have an instinctive hatred of predatory men, and women, too.

That honour will go to Gary.
I found it quite disgusting. It wasn't that long ago that we had months of the sordid sexual exploitation of Bethany and here we are again with another creep. Is it really necessary for storylines to have this sort of theme to attract viewers?
Iamcazzy I don't think it does attract viewers, I think it will turn them away.
Would it not Barsel? I think over the years that sensational storylines are well covered deliberately in the press and media prior to broadcast for this very purpose. It's certainly topical in this day and age given that it could be called "grooming". The target age of the viewers eludes me right now all the same.

The Bethany storyline raised the viewing figures and I'm hard pressed to see the difference here.
I agree Barsel. This story line shocked me, not because I am narrow minded.
Iamcazzy You are right in saying that sensational story lines can result in an increase of viewers, but these days, I can't think what type of person would find this worth viewing. This new story line is like a mixture of Bethany and Yasmeen neither of which made pleasant viewing.I don't really think that it's what Corrie fans want.
Corrie fans know there will (eventually) be the right outcome - nobody gets away with bad behaviour.
If this storyline gets young people talking about sexual exploitation I'm all for it, as uncomfortable as it is.
barry /// nobody gets away with bad behaviour.///
Have you forgotten what Gary did?
Do you think young people watch Corrie? I'm asking that as a genuine question.

11:55 that'll do Barsel, as long as someone punches his lights out!

I honestly expected her to flee when he suggested she join him in the bath.

elliemay - it was a hotel.
Thanks margie
Gary will get his comeuppance, I’m expecting closer to Christmas. My grandchildren watch Corrie, even the ones that have left home.
iluvmargie Thanks for BA.
Slightly off topic, every time Craig appears he seems to pull up in a police car then just walks away from it. He seems to have gone from a young boy to a fully fledged policeman driving a squad car, bit like Callum in EE - don't they have to train these days?

That's just because things move much quicker in soap land lankeela!
The fact most of you are disliking Ray and feeling uncomfortable shows how well it's being acted. Well done them.
