Can Anyone Help Me With A Book Titlep

It was for o level English Literature in 1986 ish and it was about a boy going to live at his uncles house(I think) the man had lots of cases of dusty moths and the boy was attacked by crows outside in the garden . I've pretty much blanked this from my memory as it gave me such terrible nightmares my mum had to go up to see my teacher. I'd love to know what it was about now that I'm an adult.
