We all saw Geoff set fire to the house. Apparently Aliya walked through the blazing house to get to Yasmin, how come none of the neighbours noticed the house was on fire.

The neighbours on the right were out at work every day from 7am to 7pm, they both worked at the same place so my mother was used to hearing nothing at all from that side during the day.
Neighbours came home one evening and the house had been stripped, totally. Even the carpets and the huge old fashioned wardrobes had gone, we never could work out how they got them down the stairs.
My mother was at home all day and heard nothing, none of the neighbours saw anything.
The burglars did leave some blood on the wall but this was long before DNA. They were never caught. My neighbours were only renting and hadn't bothered to insure their possessions.

I read that the scriptwriters had big plans for last week, the 60th anniversary of Corrie, something to top the tram crash, but all that had to be binned due to Covid. Earlier in the year I read that Yasmeen's and Geoff's storyline would be the big Christmas cliffhanger.
I think the scriptwriters brought the current 'big' stories to an end during the anniversary week - Oliver's death and the freeing of Yasmeen. Both seemed a bit rushed.
I am now thinking the Christmas shocker will be the end of Gary's freedom but as I try to avoid spoilers I haven't read anything about that. I think Rick's murder will finally be resolved.
I don't think I have ever seen Maria smile.

The attempted rape of Faye was very well done. We knew exactly what was going on without having to see it, unlike Toyah's rape which was harrowing to watch.
Of course, it wasn't done like that to save our sensibilities but because of Covid. Hard to sexually assault a person whilst keeping 2m apart :D
