Does anyone know to what extent this show is real. I mean are they really in the jungle with not much food, shelter, proper beds etc. Coz im not too sure. One example is that they their clothes always look dry and clean on (even after huge thunderstorms!) I also wonder if they have shampoo, deodarant etc coz their hair never looks really dirty (which i know mine does when ive not washed it for even one day!!)

Yes, they really are in the jungle. They have to wash in the stream. They are in New South Wales, Australia.

However, they can't exactly go exploring. They must remain within the camp perimeter unless expressly authorised such as when they go on the chest hunt.

Similarly, a certain number of people must remain in the camp area at all times.(Someone alluded to this rule last week, it's the sort of thing that goes into the participants' contracts). This is for televisual / production reasons, so that there is a slightly less remote chance that something interesting might actually happen in camp.

So, although they might be in the jungle for real, effectively (though with a few exceptions) they can't actually leave the area bounded by your 'TV screen' ie the area covered by cameras.

Exceptions would be using the toilets; seeing a doctor / member of the production team etc.; being on a task; doing the bit to camera (video diary thing).

Obviously, Celeb...Jungle relies less on the isolation thing as compared with, say, Big Brother. The contestants have regular health check ups, access to the production team, and obviously Ant & Dec pop in every day! And not forgetting of course, the post-trial creepy-crawly-removerer-man with the big syringe.

Not that I watch any of this stuff, though......

I've noticed they seem to have a lot of wine too. Where does that come from? Yesterday a reporter on This Morning I'm a Celeb Special said they opened the wine at 3pm that day!?

the camp is "swept clean" of all dangerous spiders and snakes and animals before the celebs arrive and they are close by at all times in case of any dangerous things reentering the camp area.

There is also a large see-through canopy over the camp area that allows light in but keeps out the rain however that has failed on a few occasions this series with the heavy storms. Hence the flooded beds and fire going out at its worst parts, whereas other times it is raining they are in dry shirts without a drop on them!

They arent deep in a jungle as such but more on the edge of it so that they have quick access for any emergancy reasons and also any production crew and ant and dec getting there. Yeah they trek for 5 hours to get to the camp but the camp is only 5 hours away from there start point. not 5 hours from the nearest road and town!

Apparently when Elaine collapsed people came out of the bush on all sides to help so I presume they are constantly surrounded.
They have a line in contract if rains they have 2 sets of dry clothing to have and clean beds it is there choice they dont have to go through what is seen in tv its called good editing
