I met Richard Burton when I was a kid. He was from the same town as me. He wasn’t quite so famous as it was early days for his acting career. A few of us went to his house. He was very nice and signed autographs for us
Roy Rogers and Trigger. He had him stuffed. Lenny the lion a ventriloquist chap. David Icke went to court with him. That’s me lot.
John Thaw and Denis Waterman. Yes, i know you said movie stars but there was a Sweeney film made. Met them both in a bar around the corner from the studio.
Met lots of the Emmerdale and Corrie cast, too as quite a few of them are Clarets fans.
Not exactly a movie star, but one of the smaller screen, the late Elisabeth Sladen was the most humble, sweet person you could ever want to meet.
I met the Broadway actress Gretchen Wyler who retired from acting to run an animal charity in upstate NY where my first husband and I were living at the time. She was lovely.
I also saw the actor Richard Kiley on the bus when we lived up there.
Although I've met quite a few show showbiz and sporting personalities, I can't recall meeting any film stars. However I have met a well-known movie director, Ken Loach. He used the school I was teaching at as the base for much of the filming of one of his lesser-known movies ('Looks and Smiles'), with several interior scenes filmed within the school itself. (Most of them must have ended up on the cutting room floor though, as I can't see much of the school when I watch the movie on YouTube).

He seemed to just want to keep to just his own little group, possibly regarding the regular people in the school staff room with a certain amount of suspicion. However I think that was simply because he was rather 'reserved', rather than actually being 'stand-offish'.
I used to work as air cabin crew.

One actor I remember from a long haul flight was the late Jimmy Edwards. He was drunk and thought he was the funniest man around. He certainly wasn't that day, he was a pain in the butt.

slightly off topic, but met a few rock stars, the late rick wright from pink floyd, ac/dc van halen ufo slade, few in pubs others backstage.
If we're detouring into the field of music, Fender62, I was at school with Nik Kershaw. Cliff Richard visited the school I taught at on several occasions, as did several other people in the music business, such as George Hamilton IV. I've served Fish (ex Marillion), and briefly chatted to him, in a bar.
I talked with Sir Tom Jones. Thomas Woodward at the time aka Tommy Scott. At my school youth club dances quiet regularly.
Talked with Terry Matthews now Sir Terry Matthews early 80s when I worked on the first Celtic Manor extension.
I can beat all of these, I have met Claude Greengrass himself (Bill Maynard at Villa Park, he was a Leicester City fan don't you know ) a really nice guy no old army great coat when I met him though.
^^^ I got drunk with Bill Maynard in a bar in Torquay, Tony.
Blimey, did you Chris. Great guy wasn't he.
Yup! Totally 'natural'. He was performing at a theatre in Torquay, where my parents had invited ne to join them on holiday. We ended up in the same bar as Bill after he'd been on stage.
Must have been great after he had come off stage.
Ufo/ Slade .. What were they like fender?
ticks to meeting Sean Connery, Steve Martin, Billy Connolly, Pierce Brosnan, Pierce particularly as my wife and I had coffee with him and his wife in the Amstel Hotel and about 90 minutes of chat.

no to Robin Williams and Frank Finlay, both miserable.....
As to pains in the rear, I had the misfortune to fly back from Nairobi with The Right Reverend Ian Paisley in the 1st class cabin - I nearly moved back into business as talk about loud and boorish,

On a similar theme, was at an industry lunch in Glasgow when in to the restaurant walked the Lord Provost with Jimmy Saville - and everybody had to know that he was there. Shame they didn't throw him in the Clyde (which was just outside the hotel).
You're too modest, chris. Rumour has it that watching you take games inspired Ken to create Mr Sugden.
Liam Neeson, a giant, he would beat Chuck Norris in a square go

Tim Roth, amazing actor, he’s his character all day even at meals times etc, until he changes into his own clothes. He then becomes a knob.

John hurt, just an all round really nice guy.

I could go on but...
