Yes have watched it. Makes us realise that our current lockdown is no big deal after all - we have food and technology which they didn't.

Our lockdown is certainly no big deal compared to the war years.
We have no fear of our homes being bombed, food rationing, Nazi invasion. The list is endless.
I just wish people would knuckle down and stop whinging about it.
Before you have a go at me this is nothing personal to AB people just general moaning about no pubs, holidays etc. The younger generation don't know how well off they are.

Always wary of posting on here - not in the mood to be got at.
80 years old today and woke up to water in the lobby by back door.
Not a good start to a very wet and windy day.

Thank you both.
Not a good start. Outside drain appears to be blocked as water coming in back door. Son will be here lunchtime so hope he can sort it.
Has kept away a lot as his wife is a nurse at local hospital. Usually I cope fine but can do without this.
Still, hopefully, the day can only improve!

Although there was a shortage of certain foods we didn't starve.One thing that we did not have was bananas hence the song " Yes, we have noi bananas"

Oddly enough, one of the few foods not rationed during the war was bread. It was only in 1946 that it became rationed. There were posters exhorting people to eat less bread. Can anyone remember the national loaf?
