i enjoy this but the one thing that annoys me is rewarding people with a holiday for doing awful things to friends and family members .

I haven’t watched the new series this time, I’m kinda going off them a bit
"doing awful things to friends and family"

Isn't that a Japanese TV thing? Not worth copying here.

"I’m kinda going off them a bit"

You mean you were ON them?! No accounting for tastes I suppose.

they rewarded a woman who deliberately ruined her husbands manu shirt ,got her parents to babysit telling them she was doing the shopping for them and then going out for a meal etc and hardly taking anything home and the worst thing was cooking pizzas for her friends and family in a pizza oven( her hubby built for her )knowing her cat used it to pooh in .they showed pictures inside the oven i nearly threw up ugh !
Oh that's all disgusting. I wonder if the participants feel any shame when their deeds are shown on tv?
I agree with you mally, while I was watching it I was thinking she's going to get a free holiday out of this and she doesn't deserve it. She even insulted Ant & Dec at the beginning when she came on !
i can't see the attraction of the two at all. I tried before but found them quite irritating
Yes Dave I did like the duo, I’ve met them a few times and they are genuinely nice down to earth lads, I’m going off the format of what they do more than on a personal level, perhaps I didn’t make it clear :0)
I think they are very talented and professional, but I am going off Takeaway now and I fast forward an awful lot of it. I only really watched last night because of McFly, who I like !
There is a sense of meanness and pleasure in the suffering of others for entertainment that is pandered to by programme makers.

You only have to look at the baffling popularity of the hideous You've Been Framed to see how insidious this dark side of human nature is encouraged.
It happens in families as well, Andy, some people are pranksters. They must do some research.
Umm - I can understand people in families 'entertaining' each other with stupid behaviour that ends with pain and / or humiliation, but that's a long way from making such moronic stupidity into prime time entertainment.
I agree with the humiliation. My family wouldn't even attempt it with me or my youngest son but the other two would find it funny. You have to know who you're dealing with and their personalities.
Schadenfreude...
Umm - I can only repeat my point - pain and humiliation for the entertainment of strangers is a seriously unpleasant aspect of our society.
Pain and humiliation is different to mickey taking.
Obviously, but which of those does YBF feature?
I don't know. I don't know if they were in pain or felt humiliated.
Do you not think it's all researched and rehearsed? You know, act like you are surprised/disgusted/ horrified and we'll send you all to Benidorm?
It used to be ok in the earlier years but now I think it just plays to the lowest denominator and the lack of a live audience doesn't help.
I certainly think it's researched. They don't want people bursting into tears on live TV.
It may be APG, but even if it is set up, it is designed to appeal to a nasty aspect of the viewer's character, and I see nothing of value in that - entirely the opposite.
