Everhelpful I realise that but the documentary showed how he was greatly disliked at first as an Englishman managing an Irish national team , he went from villain to hero and it showed a lot of the sectarianism going on when he was in charge , as for your attempt at wit Asquith , failcake!

I don't think amyone is "rewriting history"
There was a lot of anti-English bigotry from the ROI at the time.
There was also anti-ROI bigotry from our lot too I'm ashamed to say.
The Troubles were relevant like it or not.

There is a brilliant documentary about irish rugby and the troubles by Brian O'Driscoll - worth seeing.

The Jack Charlton programme was also very good. He was no saint Jack, but a great character. I could have done without seeing him in his nudiness tho :-)
