whaaaat? An episode with no sob story?
i find it interesting that you consider that episode to be superior - perhaps program makers could take note that "heartstring tugging" does not always make the best tv :)
am i? Did you read the post i referred to?
Don't you get a bit fed up of people "doing it for their ill granny/their disabled triplets/ because their dead husband/child/auntie would be so proud/because they have an illness"?
ps i'm not saying that those people DON'T have sob stories, just it'd be nice to see people getting something done just because, not because they have the biggest sob story. It's just emotional manipulation of viewers - like that person is more worthy
I also feel that it incredibly intrusive in some cases. Cameras linger too long on grief stricken faces while violins play in the background; the seriously ill filmed covertly without their knowledge; very personal details aired on tv for public entertainment.
