She was married to Robert Shaw who was also something of a drinker in his day.

He was sent home from the Jaws set for being too drunk to film properly, and the next day he delivered his mesmerising speech about the drowning sailors being eaten by sharks which was not scripted, he improvised the whole speech and Spielberg was so impressed, he kept the cameras rolling and kept the scene in the final cut of the film.

I think it's probably second only to The Great Escape in the number of times it's been on! Burton's voice still gives me the goosebumps, I recall being on a course, walking into the dining room one Sunday and seeing that he'd died, ran out sobbing.
