I agree that Bradley is good in The Chase, but beyond that I can't think of any good programmes that he has done.
I didn’t watch The Darling Buds of May but I’ll give Bradley’s version a try simply because I like him. That said, I gave his version of Blankety Blank a try and thought he was trying too hard. Not his finest moment.
I remember hearing Peggy Mount as Ma Larkin as a child, and being confused when she shouted and sounded like a man.
It was dire viewing when Del Boy did it and i don't hold out much hope that Bradley Walsh will make it more watchable. I'm oot:-)
That Peggy Mount ( as an actress ) was a scary woman when I was a kid.
I liked Bradley Walsh in Corrie and Law & Order: UK. He's a personable chap and should make a good Pop Larkin.
I'm looking forward to the new series, too. I was doubtful about the remake of All Creatures Great and Small but it is much better than I expected - no reason why this remake shouldn't be successful, too.
andy, my mom was very much like Peggy Mount in looks and character. We didn't mess her about :D

Was the radio/ tv version called Meet the Larkins?
And anyone remember Life with the Lyons too?
I see The Larkins is written by Simon Nye - even better
I don't remember Life With The Lyons but reading about it on Wiki has sparked my interest

That too went to TV Barry ,Ben Lyon and Bebe Daniels ,an American family , do you remember The Grove family? It was probably the forerunner of today’s soaps
Yes, I remember The Groves, a young Christopher Beeny was in it
Question Author
Oh yes, I never realised till you’ve said Barry ,this has the makings of a separate thread haha ,all those programmes on the ‘wireless’ and early TV ;0)
Bobbi, I am also appreciating the title sequence graphics (don't know the proper term) these days, the ones that look hand drawn. First noticed it with WPC 56, Father Brown, then The Durrells and All Creatures Great and Small. Totally charming.
Question Author
All easy viewing , I agree , I really enjoyed The Durrell's
Question Author
And Call the Midwife does those graphics as well Barry
Does it? From memory CTM uses a sequence of still B&W photos in its credits.
Question Author
Ah perhaps I’m mixing it up with the ‘handwriting’ that appears on the opening credits ?
Just looked at YouTube and there is a little bit of that, Bobbi
The Darling Buds of May is on ITV2 in the week at 7pm I think. Happened to click on when I was channel hopping as bored with what was on. I often get bored with the TV these days.
