Runaway Indian Wives

I recall a TV series from about five years ago about Indian (Sub continent, not native american) women running away from violent husbands, or arranged marriages and finding sanctuary in a hostel run by other Indian women.
I would like to know the name of the programme and also the name given to the 'bounty hunter' employed by some families to track down these runaways.
I don't want his character name, just the general Indian name given to such men.
It was a fascinating programme and particularly poignant because such things are happening right under our noses and most of us have no idea of the cultural stress such women must experience in these situations.
