Soundbar.

A month ago I bought a soundbar for my Samsung TV and it's connected through an audio optical output cable .But if I get the volume right for the dialog the music/sound effects are booming and if I get the volume right for the music I cant hear a word anybody says. I've tried altering all the different settings (movie,clear voice, music ect) I've tried to balance the volume on the soundbar the TV and the Humax free view box but If I can hear the voices the music and sound effects nearly blow me out of my chair. Any help please ?.

It's an unfortunate fact that "cheap" soundbars can be worse than the TV without any soundbar at all (Which? tests only confirm this).

ladybirder...the Best Buys are all ridiculous prices(Sonos, Polk, some LG, some Samsung, several hundred pounds!). The cheapest "great value" is the LG SJ2 at £99.
Most people wouldn't want to spend three times as much on a soundbar as on their TV (Sonos, for example, £999!)

My advice would be to contact Amazon and see if you can send it back as it is not fit for purpose. Very few reviews on Amazon, doesn’t seem to be sold anywhere else, not one I would have bought
