Random question of the day....

On adverts for designer fragrances (I'm thinking Hugo Boss, DKNY, Calvin Clein, etc) where all the men are handsome and the women are beautiful, do they advertise for models or actors? Would they specify for models who can act or actors who are good looking? Ta.

morning nat. I am not an expert but I am sure they will use modelling agencies to recruit/find these skinny waif like people. Personally I only buy an after shave I like the smell of, I couldnt care less if the advert makes it look like I will pull a stunner if I use their product (aka lynx).

You mean after I have put perfume on I still look the same? (waif like and beautiful of course)

Dagnammit....

lol. If you drank the perfume I'd look better than Brad Pitt!

Perfume doesn't smell the same on different people. Do you agree? So it's not much use taking too much notice of ads. You have to try them for yourself.

I'm sure most models would claim that there is an element of acting in what they do. Lets face it - looking blankly into the camera and rolling around sexily on a beach (or whatever) isnt Oscar potential. To answer your question - there is probably a bit of cross over (models with aspirations of acting)

I want to know why all the perfume adverts are the same - arty and pretentious.

Does the ad agency get a cheap job-lot done?

I don't get it either brachiopod, it does nothing for me. As others have said, if I like the smell of a fragrance then I will buy it, no amount of skinny people talking cr*p and swishing around on the telly is going to make me want to buy it.

It's all a facade. It's supposed to smell better if it's French...
Ahhhh but if the ads showed a Waynetta Slob looky likey- would you even smell the perfume in the 1st place?
