have you watched "Derek" ?- bitter sweet, excellent performance, it's on netflix, stick with it for a couple of episodes, it builds.

in Derek he plays a learning dis guy and you completely forget it's him, the character is so well done.

It's a shame that some people won't watch any programme with 'such and such' in it. Their choice, loss I guess.

Arrods I've always found that a very immature approach by some, to dismiss an entire series even genre on some initial sampling of one person is stupid. There are actors/performers I cannot stand but sometimes I see them in something and think, fair play, that was brilliant. I can't abide the Gallaghers but love the music of Oasis, it is possible to like something that is done by someone you don't like.

I thought Extras was a stunnng piece of work.

The way it unfolded over two series was masterful, the pathos in the humour, always just under the surface, and the showbizz barbs written in were so good.

The famous cameos all playing against type were just icing on the cake - wonderful.

As you probably know, this is a personal hobby horse of mine - the willingness to separate the art from the artist.

I love playing Michael Jackson tracks at my discos, always a huge hit, but I am prevented from playing Gary Glitter, because as a convicted abuser, his sins are unforgiven, although his records remain amazing.
