Thora Hird

I recently watched "Lost for Words" with the marvellous Thora Hird and Pete Postlethwaite and it brought to mind another Thora film or tv production in which she played an ageing mother with a ne'er do well son who led her a merry dance. I remember a scene where she was dusting the privet hedge and another where she discovered he'd taken his girlfriend up to her bedroom. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I've looked at the various filmographies etc. but nothing prompts me there and it's definitely not one of Bennett's "Talking Heads." Thanks for any help

Is it Pat and Margaret by Victoria Wood? This the one where Thora says, standing by the gate,"Not on the eiderdown" when she discovers that her son has been having sex with his girlfriend Margaret.
