Just got this to replace my old Xperia Z3 compact and as I am a little wary on setting up I have used what was in the settings on my old Z3 but all of them are not on new phone. So can you help please?

1. On my Z3 there was in settings an option to tap screen twice to bring screen up after it had gone dull (I set this for a minute) but the only way I can now do this is to press the on/off button once and this is not very good. Is the two tap option not on this phone and if not can it be set to swipe open or another method?

2. On the Z3 it made a welcomesound when it first switched on and the Xperia sign came up followed by the home screen - this does not happen

3. Went into lock screen and changed clock to Sony Digital but did not change on home screen

Thanks everyone

Moggie

I've not got a Sony phone, so I'm fumbling in the dark here, but here goes anyway . . .

1. If you enable the 'smart backlight control' feature, the screen will stay illuminated as long as you've got the phone in your hand (obviating the need to periodically turn it back on again, by whatever method). It will only turn off when you put the phone down. See page 18: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/V171/V1710908M.pdf

2. I've no idea! However the section entitled 'To enable or disable other sounds and tones' on page 55 might be relevant.

3. I've no real idea again! (Sorry!) Is there anything relevant that can be accessed via Settings > System > Date & time?

My spare phone is an XA1 and I've just had a quick look:

1. As far as I can see, there is no option to double tap to bring the screen back up. I have to press the on/off button once to bring the screen back up.

2. I cannot find any setting for a welcome notification. Mine doesn't make a noise when I turn it on - it looks like it's not an option.

3. The clocks on the lock screen and home screen are separate apps, so you need to change them both. You've changed the lock screen clock, so I won't bother explaining how to do that, so here's one of the ways how to change the home screen clock:
On the home screen, press and hold on an empty space. Some extra icons will now be available at the bottom of the screen. Select "widgets". Scroll sideways through these widgets and select "clocks". Select which clock format you'd like on your home screen and drag it to where you'd like it to be and if necessary, you can resize it.

I hope this helps :)

Than ks Giz...and everyone who tried to help
You are correct of course - my new XA1 does not have this option (which I liked on my old phone)
Also when I first switch on the screen was going to another white screen and not directly to my home page as it did when I first set it up yesterday.
My fault - I uninstalled AVG which came with it and installed Av ast from my laptop as I juse it there. I have now gone back to AVG and all is ok
Great and thanks
