Apart from going to a bullion shop yourself, Dickinson's Real Deal is probably the best place to sell gold items - they always give near the bullion value (much better than going to auction like Flog It! do).

BUT - it's intensely boring TV cos you know what will happen, so why show it?

most of the other items are of some interest but gold - not so much.

and they always have SOME gold
and you can get the bullion price from the papers every day
Silver is very cheap

Lalique, Bernard Leach, Troika some Poole, modern porcelain - recently Hester Bateman silver ( tea shovel) and Beatles signatures that didnt sell ( bottom two were obviously the same hand - the groupee's!)
oh and someone has a sense of humour
one had a set of James Bond posters displaced proudly
on an C18 chinese silk carpet!
