Is Andrew Neil An Imbecile?
15 Answers
Seems one Aber thinks so, but read from here: "Blair had a simple, reassuring proposition for the British people. He would not restore union power: the Thatcher laws which tamed the unions would remain intact."
Its a good read anyway and something Sir Kier should take note of.
//To call them something else, and pretend Labour didn’t win or the Tories didn’t win is just the ravings of an imbecile.//

What Blair managed to do was position the party as a more centrist party. 18 years of Conservative rule and people were ready for a change. Blair made transferring the electorate voting from Conservative easy. Not from one extreme to the other, but a tiny step to the centre ground.
I also agree Starmer should be doing better. It remains to be seen if he can improve in the next two years.

TTT says Blair was a Tory and Labour did not win 3 elections.
Ymb says the current Government are Greens not Tories.
It was me who said that is nonsense. Parties cannot stand still and constantly have to reinvent themselves to stay fresh and avoid being stale.
But Blair led a Labour Government and Johnson leads the Conservatives.
Not sure the point of the OP, everyone knows Blair softened Labour to make them more electable.
