Has Rishie or any of Borises chrony's anyone been charged with fraud... there may of been some dodgy dealings and critoisms of practices but not fraud AFAIK. Yes Rishis wife was tax avoiding (as most of us do but on a much smaller scale) but thats not fraud
Indeed. Poor girl must have been struggling to make ends meet, poor thing. I’ll feel properly sorry when she gets down to her last billion.

And there is the problem ^^^. Clear jealousy.
Do you covet your neighbours ox too?
As far as I am aware there has been no proof of fraud from any MP in the house. If, of course, anyone has then I would expect them to be charged crony or not.
The problem is too many dont know the difference between avoidance and evasion/fraud.

Jealousy? Not at all.
Just bewilderment at someone with more money than they could spend in a thousand lifetimes doing their utmost to avoid paying taxes that the ordinary person in the street does.
Greed begets greed is certainly how it looks.
No matter how much tax she pays she won’t be visiting a food bank at any time during her life, will she?
Whilst not a criminal matter it is certainly morally reprehensible in the present economic crisis.

// Government fraud investigators are looking into contracts to supply the NHS with PPE during the pandemic, officials at the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have said.
Giving evidence to the Commons Public Accounts Committee, Jonathan Marron, the director general of the office for health improvement and disparities, said they had “concerns” over 176 contracts worth a total of £3.9 billion. //
Good that they are going to investigate fraud.
Bad that they we’re not diligent when they were handing out contracts with no tendering to VIP suppliers. They were inviting fraud, and got it in heaps.

It appears the investigation over dodgy PPE dealings started at least a week ago.

If anybody can legitimately avoid paying tax, then they should. In fact, they have a moral duty to - they are better at spending their money than any Government. All Governments and public bodies are wasteful, because it’s easy to spend other peoples money.
Show me somebody who would rather pay £100 tax when they need only legitimately pay £50 and I’ll show you a liar.
As far as we know Sunak’s wife has legitimately avoided tax. She’s paid the amount she’s required to pay in the Uk, and the amount she’s required to pay elsewhere. She’s done nothing wrong.
So YMB is correct - it comes down to jealousy. Legitimately avoiding £50 is OK, but
Legitimately avoiding £50m is not OK.
Also, anybody who has an ISA is legitimately avoiding tax.
I see no difference.

Gromit,// Government fraud investigators are looking into contracts to supply the NHS with PPE during the pandemic. But their findings will not be released until after the 2024 G/E Because it could stop the Cons from trying to win the next election, and also it might stop someone from receiving a Knighthood...
every liquid pound is tax anyway, direct taxation of the individual is a socialist weapon to keep the poor poorer. So anyone "rich" avoiding tax is only avoiding direct tax. They'll spend and buy things, pay wages anyway and in that way they contribute far more that most of us. Lefties like DH just like to use taxation to punish success and keep people poor. I'd abolish personal direct taxation tomorrow.
dougy: "This 'socialist weapon' you speak of seems to have found favour with current and previous rightist governments too.
Is there something they're not telling us." - err no, they haven't yet acquired the bottle to abolish it. They have however reduced the rate from 33% under the last socialist "government" in 1979 to 20%, 19% soon to come. It would be a huge step but that's what the western world needs.
