Colin Murray gets the gig for the next batch of episodes - let's hope it becomes permanent.

Rachel and Susie both appear to be absolutely delighted.

Anybody other than Robinson will do for me - I might start watching again if the guest is interesting.
I used to be an avid viewer, even recording the programme when working. After a time, it began to be a tad 'old hat' and i was already thinking of ceasing to watch when Nick Hewer made my mind up for me. Can't stand the guy. Haven't watched it since he took over and i can't really see that situation changing.
I hope the programme's 'loyal' viewers find Murray a better fit than they apparently found Robinson.
I heard on the radio that Colin is there until the end of the year, but there is another permanent host lined up - to be advised.
I’ve never heard of him.
As i recall,Colin Murray did go on a bit with the talking , when he stood in previously .

If he does less talking , he might be ok .

Despite what folk on here think about her- Ratings for Countdown have shot up since Anne Robinson joined as a host.
Strange how everyone slated Ann Robinson in the seat but the viewing figures don't lie - the highest viewing figures since 2013 whilst she was in the chair
I refused to watch Robinson as a matter of priciple - anyone who makes a living out of being rude to people doesn't do it for me.
Is it to be remanded as Cuyntduyn?
It really doesn't bother me who hosts. I watch for the game, not the chat
Rebranded
She isn't rude on Countdown , but no one is forced to watch
She's quite flirty with some of the men, which is a bit cringey. She's amused me a few times
Oh wow, that is brilliant news, thanks for sharing Dave x
I thought Nick Hewer was an excellent host and was sorry to see him go. I’ve never heard of Colin Murray but I’m sure he’ll be fine.
I liked Colin Murray when he did it before that dreadful Ann Robinson took over. I hope he stays permanently
Bliss! Loved Colin Murray presenting. Couldn't stand Anne Robinson.
She may not be rude, Baz, but she didn't have the personality to present Countdown.
Of course I'm not forced to watch but it's a programme I've enjoyed since day one and I certainly wasn't alone in having it ruined by her and having to fast forward to skip her dull and droning bits.

I'd need some proof that she has improved ratings other than through curiosity and disbelief for the first week or so......can't imagine her having a fan base big enough to bring new viewers to Countdown............ :-)
Colin Murray has time on his hands.
He was doing the EFL football show on Quest, but they've lost the contract.
He did well last time on Countdown.
It doesn't seem to be in the top 50 Channel4 programmes for the last week of April.

Can't believe how many folk are saying.....She's going? Great, I'll start watching again.
Bring back Jeff Stelling.
