On Sky, I've one episode to go - and I hear there will be another series. The story is completely illogical - but I try not to think about that too much so it's holding my attention and I'm enjoying it. Is anyone else's watching?

Does it follow the Wyndham book?
I’ve seen it advertised and I’m tempted Naomi, what’s the gist of the story?

Pretty much I think, but I can't really remember, sandyRoe. It's a long time since I read the book,

Bobbi, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Midwich_Cuckoos#Television
It is mostly faithful to the book yes, though the main character is female in this version and there is more parental bonding with the children. I think that is appropriate in a modernisation though as the story is around pregnancy. I thoroughly enjoyed it, Kelley Hawes is very good in the lead role.
Bobbi it was filmed in the 1960 as Village of the Damned if you know that story?
I’ll give it a go I think as Mr B is away for a few days

It's definitely illogical but a bit of escapism albeit a tad scary.

I enjoyed it.
I loved the Midwich Cuckoos, in fact all books by John Wyndham. I've still got them although they are a bit tatty now.
Have only watched the first episode - but will be watching the rest
Jno, thanks yes, its nit a patch on the first though:)
Came out in the sixties - a book that was handed around in schools ( shades of Harry Potter but 50y prior)
There is a black and white film ( Village of the Damned) made on a budget of around 2/6 ( half a crown)

Chrysalids had a book cover of a foot print - but with 6 toes!
Question Author
I watched the final episode last night. Not at all bad, albeit still logically daft. I can see where a second series might come from.
Question Author
PP, it bears no resemblance whatsoever to Harry Potter.
naomi24 so in the last episode the bus is blown up, I take it all are dead and why did the cop guy put a bomb on the bus, I don;t get it? sorry if I sound thick.
