....who's going to notice? Please stay out as long as possible.
There is nothing in law that says anyone actually must have a lawyer anyway.

Would Rumpole abandon his regular clients ( the Timosons were they?) Just to get she who must be obeyed a few extra quid to spend in Harrods food hall?

Completely off-topic, ttt.
'Came across' this short youtube video yesterday.
Thought you might like the title; 'How quislings and fifth-columnists in Britain hope to destroy the country's culture from within'

he's certainly talking about a lot of the Gullivistas on this site.
Here comes that infatuation/obsession with the 5C lefties again…..

Excepting when it’s barristers on strike of course.
Yes, ttt. Somebody called, so I had to go,
Do you think getting rid of all lawyers is a good thing, TTT?
I’d imagine not all.
The government will require the services of a few shortly when they break international law over Brexit and the NI situation.

barmaid: "Do you think getting rid of all lawyers is a good thing, TTT? " - no, my son has a legal degree, though he's not doing law at the moment. I just think that they are too readily used and often encourage conflict that could be amicably resolved without them.
//25% on Legal Aid fees thats all, they are not asking for a 25% wage increase. //

Whats the difference? Its 25% extra out the public purse. Are you willing to pay 25% more tax (if you pay any) to fund everyone on the public payroll a 25% increase because once you do one the rest will folllow.
But this dispute seems to be instigated by criminal barristers who generally don’t deal in cases that could be resolved ‘amicably’, isn’t it?
Is a legal degree the same as a law degree?

fatti: "But this dispute seems to be instigated by criminal barristers who generally don’t deal in cases that could be resolved ‘amicably’, isn’t it? " - I was merely trying to answer bednobs me old china. I'm making no points about the area of law the strikers occupy.
Thanks for the clarification, old fruit.
…..but I think you meant Barmaid?

Yeah, but when a plumber gets a bit of experience he won't be earning £1,500,000 a year. (Unless he's the bloke who fixed my boiler last winter)
Was going to say, these jobs are eventually so rewarding that people used to work for nothing (internships).
*Pleasantly surprised to find internships still exist despite 'Call me Dave' promising to put an end to them.

*Keeps the riff-raff out of the better professions. snort
