Just watched it all the way through, the American couple fell in love with the Mystery House (even though they are all a Mystery) in the Wye Valley. But why don’t they tell us at the end of the programme, if they bought the house or not? So annoying!

I thought they usually do..
If the outcome is known.
I agree, so annoying. I bet they know more than they tell us.
I'm becoming very cynical about this type of programme. Most reality programmes really
If the clients buy the house, but take their time over it, that may not happen soon enough for the BBC to tell us.
I find that happens all the time on Escape to the County. The presenters are just that and don't do any negotiating, I think that's why we rarely know the outcome. Now place in the sun the presenters are property agents, they put in offers and we often get to see sales go through.
Prudie, A Place in the Sun is smoke and mirrors, too. It would take far too long for the negotiating to be filmed on camera - one glass of orange juice wouldn't be enough.
So, the negotiating happens off camera - don't forget the presenter phones the estate agent who has to contact the seller, it might take hours or days.
What we see is the presenter phoning a crew member to recreate the deal. The buyers don't know the final outcome before filming, though.
The presenters don't find the properties, either.
And you can only "Escape to the Country" if you have more than 1/2 million quid to spend!
