Yep, Zellweger has confirmed it.
There are 4 books and 3 films. Baby was the fourth book, but the 3rd film, so they must be sourcing new material.

I had hope that Sheridan Smith would play the lead role. She has done it on stage, and would be excellent.

When I read the books many, many years ago, I always saw Caroline Quentin as the lead.

Rene IS Bridget. I recall her playing Judy Garland, and there were moments in that film when it would have been easy to believe that Judy Garland was Bridget! Bridget was definitely lurking there!

I loved the first two movies although I've never read the books and thought Rene was perfect and happily repeat watch when they are on however I thought the third one was so truly awful and Rene was also unrecognisable after her work done that I doubt I'd want to see a fourth.

jno, the first film was in 2001 - over 20 years ago - when she was portrayed as a 32 year old. That would put her in her 50s now. This film is about Bridget as a mother and Bridget is obviously ageing along with Rene. I don't see a problem there.

The character would have been 48 then, and parenting at 55 when the film comes out next year.

I am sorry Naomi to spoil your fun but I watched a little of the very first movie of Bridget Jones years ago that it bored me senseless and I wouldn't watch any of Bridget Jones movies again. But again am not fussy of Renezz Zewegger.

tried to watch her in Judy Garland and couldn't warm to her at all -
Nobody could live Judy Garland's life the way she did only Judy.
