^because, maydup, the answer to the OP's question isn't that easy to explain in a sentence...which is why it's sensible to search for the answer oneself.
Oh well. All as clear as mud then!!!! Don’t know where they got my email address Dave but it’s my husband’s address and I can’t ask him about it cos sadly he isn’t with us any longer. Not to worry I survived before the ITV hub and will no doubt survive after it!!!
Kustard, if you have a smart tv and a compatible tablet, desktop pc or phone you can still access ITV Hub online (until the service ends) and 'cast' it to your tv. It works very well
In a nutshell:
You got an email because your husband had registered to watch ITV hub as with BBCiPlayer etc.
Some devices cannot support the new version which promises more content and security (for them). So this was a heads up to that effect.
Most TVs should be ok but some Humax recorders that have it incorporated and some other TVs may not be compatible.
Change is inevitable and one we readily accept with our phones.
If your TV becomes incompatible then a plug in Amazon Firestick has it and is a cheap fix.
