Gave up our jobs and bought a semi derelict cottage in very rural Norfolk which we renovated ourselves. Not exactly in a wild place but so different from the rat race. Dave and I sort of did. Maybe not in the true meaning of remote but to a far away village in the far south west of Ireland. Fed up with the UK we wanted a kinder, calmer place to live. I knew this area well and knew that it would suit us.
We have beautiful, deserted beaches to roam. Mountains and hills to climb where we see nobody.
If we want company we have a vibrant, friendly village to wander through. Life is bliss.
