Last night dad and son downloaded Top Gun Maverick. I got ready with a good book as I was convinced I would hate it, but got right into it and even had a tear at the end.

Is there anything you've read or watched you were determined not to like but really enjoyed?

I did that too, eva - and subsequently discovered what a great series it was. Same with Breaking Bad.
A few years ago went to see Andre Rieu, couldn't believe how talented and versatile his orchestra is, seen him 3 times now, never in a million years would I think of orchestral music being so varied and so good.
In my student days a friend invited me to Covent Garden to see an opera - Puccini's La Boheme. Reluctantly I accepted thinking I could always have a little nap to alleviate the boredom. What a shock! It was absolutely stupendous! Since then I've not only made a bee-line for UK opera houses at every opportunity but those around the world too. All I can say is if you've not tried it don't knock it.
I did not like Pink Floyd and whenever Mr T played any I would leave the room moaning about the row!
Then, I very reluctantly, went with him to see The Dark Side of the Moon concert. I thought it was fantastic and have been a convert ever since.
Took the kids, under sufferance, to see BIG when it came out.
Loved it. Glad it was dark so they couldn't see 'He-Man' tearing up.
For me it was seeing and hearing ex cathedra at St Paul's in Birmingham. Never had much exposure to serious choral music until then but even with my totally unusual soul I found it moving and beautiful
Unusual! unMusical

You're dead to me, Tilly.

What about Spurs?
Are you with us. Yay.

I think I might be lowering the tone. Sorry. ;-(

Thanks for the answers! One the subject of ballet it was the opposite for me. I saved up and went to see Swan Lake when it came to our nearest venue and was so bored, I went home at half time!
I'm off out with the dog. I'm not looking forward to it but will enjoy it by the end. :-)
Well, that was a pleasant walk. It didn't rain.
