ITV - Ebbsfleet versus Fleetwood FA Cup, early round on the box when the World Cup is on. And the BBC had a similar match on earlier. As if we don't have enough football on at the moment - it's blood relentless!

I'm not decrying showing the matches for those town locals and devoted fans but I thought we had alternative channels, the i-Player, Hub and red button for such games?

Not everybody wants football 18/24........come on you BBC & ITV scheduling teams .

What do you think?

They've even moved Strictly to Friday this coming week!
Football should be banned, completely!!

Good GOD - what are they thinking.
I understand both BBC and ITV will have paid a lot for the rights to show the matches, but they both have more than one channel on which to show them. Do they really think that someone who wants to watch a certain match won't be able to find it if it's on, say, BBC 2 or ITV 2?
ITV should make their ITV 4 a total sports channel. There they can show all the horse racing, darts, football they want!
I love football and go to watch it regularly but this is overkill.
The World Cup is only once every four years. Strictly is every flippin year and every weekend.

It’s a feast for Mf M and I’m finding it really relaxing on there cold damp days not having to moan about the weather but happily indoors with coffee and footie.
Well said Maydup, you lost me at the coffee bit though ;-)
I haven't watched live television for years.

Record what you like, play back when you want to watch, and skip the ads.

There is no need in this day and age to be ruled by TV schedules.

They still have 'seasonal changes' as though they are rotating crops, it's ludicrous.

Take charge of your viewing.

true andy but its the hassle of finding the programmes and remembering to record them and not everything makes it way onto the i-Player and Hub.
...and I bet that many soap fans will miss Emmerdale and Coronation Street being shown tonight (Sun).
Far too many soaps and reality progs and nowhere near enough live football on terrestrial tv.
I do the same as AH, all the series I watch record automatically on 'series link' so I won't be missing Corrie, but I do look at the tv listings every day - don't most people?
I've still got lots of drama series to start on my boxes so can avoid the football.
There were at least 7 live games on BBC and ITV yesterday: 4 World cup games, 2 FA Cup and one NIFL (streaming only)
I did wonder at the time if that was a record.

Marvellous!
What with that and the rugby on Amazon it was a very busy day :-)
Don't get me started on soaps, they're on all the fluffing time, do I ditch and moan about them... nope I let others that do enjoy them get on with it.
To rub it in, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday BBC1 and 2 will be showing matches at the same time
It’s great, makes a change especially at this time of year getting us through these short days and helping us avoid the pre-Christmas non sense!
