If you fancy a non violent very British film watch this. Loosely based on a true story about a man who tries to set up his own bank. It's available on Netflix, not for everyone but I enjoyed it

I put this up a few weeks back, warning folk not to take it as absolute truth. The only two things that are true are the fact that Dave wanted to open a bank and the final outcome.
Still, though, as you say, it is a feelgood film.
So, did he later start a TV channel ?
No. That was Rodney.
A good watch, but like already said it's not very factual. The Def Leppard concert never happened .... and as far as I'm aware neither did any other kind of concert, which begs the question, how did he raise the funds .... but overall, I still enjoyed it :)
Just as an afterthought, most people refer to the bank as "Bank of Dave" .... whereas it's actually called "Bank on Dave" .... or at least, that's what's on the sign outside the bank :)

I must apologise for this post - I did a search in film and tv but obviously did not go back far enough, sorry
We watched it last week and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Made a nice change from hiding behind a cushion during gory bits Tilly:-)
It did and it was nice to see Rory Kinnear playing a good guy.

I really rate Rory Kinnear, always liked him in Count Arthur Strong
Did it mention Jane Austen's brother Henry who tried it (and eventually failed).
There was a C4 documentary...2012. Yikes...doesn't seem that long ago.
