Subtitles On Itvx

A few programmes I want to watch, but cannot get subtitles. On ITV catch-up/ITVX. BBC iPlayer is fine. Help please!

The programs that do have subtitles available have an ‘S’ symbol located in the top-right corner of the screen. To turn them either on or off all you have to do is simply press the ‘S’ button.

I've just tried ITVX on my Android tablet and can get the subtitles by pausing the programme and clicking on the S icon at the top of the screen.

Your smart TV will be using the Freeview Play app to enable you to access ITVX. As stated above, there's a known problem with providing subtitles via Freeview Play, so you won't be able to get them until the problem is fixed, which might not be for a few months yet.

I can get subtitles on ITVX when I watch through my Virgin box, not through my aerial

I've just had a thought. If you have a smartphone try opening the ITVX app on that and 'casting' it to your tv, you might be able to get the subtitles on the phone app
